Privacy

Your videos are yours. Here is exactly what SuperWatcher does with your data, in plain words.

Last updated October 4, 2026

The short version

  • No account. No ads. No analytics or tracking of any kind.
  • Your videos, library, watch progress and notes stay on your device.
  • We never see what you watch or where it comes from.
  • Purchases are handled entirely by Apple.
  • The app only sends us something when you send feedback, when it crashes, and in a tiny anonymous daily check-in. All of it is described below.

What stays on your device

Everything you put into SuperWatcher lives on your iPhone or iPad: the videos you import, your library and folders, watch progress, notes with their still frames and voice recordings, subtitle files, links you’ve opened, and your settings. None of it is uploaded to us. If your device backs up to iCloud, these files are included in that backup, under Apple’s control.

Deleting the app deletes this data. One exception: the count of free movies you’ve used is stored in your device’s Keychain, so the free trial isn’t reset by reinstalling.

Who SuperWatcher talks to

SuperWatcher has no servers that your videos pass through. When it uses the network, it’s for one of these reasons:

Videos and links you open

When you play a link, use Save for Offline, or stream from your own media server, the app connects directly to that server. We are not involved and see nothing. That server sees your connection the way any website does. You can turn off Save Link History and Suggest Copied Links in Settings.

Feedback you choose to send

Send Feedback and Ideas & Roadmap are optional. If you send a report, it goes to our feedback service (SuperFeedback, which we run on Cloudflare) and includes:

Look at the screenshot before you send: if it shows something private, remove it. You can hide the feedback button in Settings.

Crash reports

If SuperWatcher crashes, it saves a crash report and sends it the next time you open the app, so we can fix the problem. A crash report contains the technical details listed above, the crash itself, and recent app log lines. It contains no account, advertising identifier or contact information.

A daily anonymous check-in

Once a day at most, the app tells our feedback service which version of SuperWatcher and iOS it is running and how its feedback options are set. It includes no identifier, nothing about your videos, and nothing about you. We use it to know which versions are still in use.

AirPlay diagnostics (off unless you turn it on)

If you turn on “Send AirPlay diagnostics automatically”, a failed AirPlay session sends a technical log of that session (codecs, network timings, the name of the AirPlay device) so we can make casting more reliable. It is off by default.

OpenSubtitles (only if you use it)

If you add an OpenSubtitles.com API key and search for subtitles, your search (title, language, and a fingerprint of the video file used to find matching subtitles) goes directly from your device to OpenSubtitles.com. Their privacy policy applies. Your key is stored in your device’s Keychain.

Apple services

The built-in browser

Websites you visit in SuperWatcher’s browser see you like they would in any browser. The browser keeps sign-ins in its own storage, separate from Safari, keeps no browsing history, and “Sign Out of All Sites” erases everything it stored.

Permissions

SuperWatcher only asks when you use the feature that needs it, and works without any of them.

PermissionWhy
PhotosTo import the videos you pick, and to save a still frame when you ask.
Local NetworkFor Wi-Fi Transfer: your computer uploads to your iPhone over your own Wi-Fi. It runs only while you have it turned on.
MicrophoneTo record voice notes.
Speech RecognitionTo turn voice notes into text.
Face IDOnly to confirm it’s you before turning off the Require VPN setting, if you use it.

What we never do

Keeping and deleting data

Feedback and crash reports are kept only as long as they help us fix problems and plan features. To have a report deleted, email us with roughly when you sent it and what it said, and we’ll remove it.

Children

SuperWatcher is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what leaves your device, we’ll say so in the app’s release notes.
